Prior To Each Lighting
Be sure to trim the wick to about 1/4” for a clean and smoke free burn.
We do offer tools for candle care in our Candle Care Kit (trimmer and snuffer).
And always protect the surface on which the candle sits, the bottom and sides of the jar can get very hot especially when nearing the end of the wax at bottom.
When First Lighting A Candle
On your first light, allow the entire surface of wax to melt, usually a minimum of 2 hours. There may still be some minimal wax hanging on the sides of the jar but that’s normal.
After the first burn with wax melted to the edge of candle vessel, never let it burn for more than 4 hours.
Discontinue use when there is only 1/4" wax left in the vessel.
Our Wicks
Ensure the wick is centered : after each burn, adjust the wick toward the center of the candle only if needed while the wax is still soft/molten.
The cotton wicks we have selected are intended to "mushroom" to help facilitate an even burn throughout the candle's lifecycle, but that may mean the top of a used wick is large when you go to light your candle again... this needs to be trimmed in order to keep the health of the candle and the evenenss of the burn consistent, as well to help manage the size of the flame.
End Of Life & Upcycle
When approximately 1/4” of wax is left in the bottom of your candle, it’s time to discontinue use and recycle/upcycle the glass.
It's best to always remove the remaining wax. Pro cleaning tip—put the candle in the freezer until the wax is frozen, then said wax should pop out easily.
